Beauty Boss - Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

Cleansing should be the most important part of any skincare routine. Especially if you’re a Londoner – smoggy streets, makeup and mad dashes on the tube. By the end of the day I could convincingly pass as a hiker up the Hekla Icelandic volcano. So to remove makeup, dirt and grime of the most Pompeian proportions I turn to Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser.

I decided to give it a try after hearing rave reviews from friends. Apparently it’s won close to 70 awards.

Whats’s in it?

The formulation is gentle with natural ingredients and a divine lavender fragrance. It is made up for the following goodies; Cocoa butter; Hops extract; Eucalyptus; Rosemary; Chamomile and Beeswax.
Crucially there is no mineral oil, a cheap substance often employed in cosmetics and is the equivalent of rubbing baby oil all over your face. Weirdly, mineral oil is one of the main ingredients in Eve Lom’s cleanser which costs £50 for 100ml. I find this outrageous since Eve Lom’s cleanser is based on the same premise as Liz Earle’s, but you pay far more for an inferior product.

Application

The application is simple. Massage the rich cleanser gently over your face and neck. The texture is divine and really luxurious. Then rinse the muslin cloth in hand-hot water and sweep over your face, removing the cleanser and all traces of makeup.

Result

Skin feels incredibly clean and also very comfortable. Not tight or irritated, I was even tempted to forgo the rest of my routine, as it felt like I had done it all already.
I really recommend that you try this product, because it really does the job. It hasn’t earned its reputation on the back of gimmicks or expensive marketing campaigns but because it really works! Great for sensitive of problem skins and also those in search of a great natural beauty staple.
