They say imitation is the best form of flattery . Which is why, Tijan Serena should be seriously flattered. Because I reckon, she single-handedly emptied the Christian Dior saddle bag shelves of Vestiaire Collective.
I was scrawling through my feed and a peculiar thing happened. I saw that, Tijan Serena, one of my favourite beauty vloggers (find her blog here), had posted a vintage looking baby blue denim Dior saddle bag. The kind you find in the back of your closet and WhatsApp to a friend with an “omg” caption or a facepalm emoji. I was intrigued.
Intrigued, because only a bad ass, can plumb the veritable goldmine of early 00s fashion and pick something decent. Now if it were up to me, we would all be dusting off our Von Dutch hats and wearing polo shirts with popped collars. But sadly, I am a mere follower of trends and not their creator. Although I will take the credit for my addiction to Hermes and their subsequent global popularity. They owe me big.
I immediately messaged Tijan. Cool Dior. I like it. I think I might copy you.
She immediately imparted to me that, Christian Dior are reissuing the Dior saddle bag, their hit “It bag” of the early 2000s, for 2018. “Obviously, it’s going to be in the thousands. But you can pick one up on Vestiaire for £200”.
How to Style the Dior Saddle Bag
Now I knew I’d be copying her. One problem though. I am remarkably uninspired when it comes to styling ironic accessories or the latest trends. A Gucci T-shirt, I can just about cope with (read why everyone’s obsessed with the Gucci T-shirt) – but anything more, has me slyly style stalking insta accounts (surely, this is a case in point?).
So how does Tijan do it? With effortless insouciance of course. Whilst double denim puts the fear of god in me, Tijan just nails it. Baby blue Dior saddle bag, dark wash jeans, banging leather jacket and perfect blow-dry.
The baby-bump isn’t obligatory, but there’s no shame in admitting that she makes you want one.
Celebs Rocking the Dior Saddle Bag
In case you need any more inspiration, there’s always Bella Hadid, Elsa Hosk or some vintage Sex in the City.
Dior Saddle Bag 2018 Price
The price for the 2018 Dior Saddle bag is pretty steep. The medium size in logo fabric will set you back $2,850, whilst the leather version is $3,250. Which is just another reason to consider going for vintage…

Tijan nabbed a winner. There are a few good ones left on Vestiaire though, here are some of the best.
